Mr. Uche Ben Obi is the Company Secretary of BOI Investment and Trust Company Limited. He is an experienced Legal Practitioner as well as a Chartered Secretary and Administrator. He has over 24 years’ experience in legal practice. During this period, he has done Private Legal Practice, Corporate Legal and Secretarial Practice, Development Banking, Risk Management, Control and Compliance.

He has held various positions during his career.

He is the Pioneer Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of the National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC) Limited.

Joined Bank of Industry Limited in 2008, he has held some positions in the Bank. These include:

• Head of Legal Services (Northern Region of Nigeria)
• Head of Compliance Department.
• Team Lead of the Corporate Secretariat Division.

Prior to his joining Bank of Industry Ltd, he was Senior Registrar 1 in the High Court of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He was Managing Solicitor of Nnaemeka C. Ughanze & Co., Firm of Lawyers.

He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)(Hons.) from the University of Benin in 1998/1999. He obtained his B.L Degree from the Nigerian Law School, in 2002. He also obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Lagos in 2015.

He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Chartered Secretary and Administrator, and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.

In addition, he is a member of the following professional bodies:

• Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
• Associate member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators
  (ICSAN).
• Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
• Member of International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDRI).
• Member of Compliance Institute of Nigeria.
