Oluwa Idris Akinbode is a visionary Senior Business Development Professional with over 18 years of experience

driving growth and providing strategic financial solutions within Nigeria’s financial services sector. Currently serving as the Head of Business Development at BOI Investment and Trust Company Limited, he brings a wealth of expertise in investment management, risk assessment, and financial planning, specializing in empowering businesses through tailored financial solutions and fostering long-term partnerships.

His career began with a strong foundation in financial services, where he played pivotal roles across various sectors, including oil and gas, agribusiness, and food processing. At BOI, he has spearheaded key initiatives, including securing high-profile partnerships with leading conglomerates such as Nestlé, Unilever, and Nigerian Breweries, significantly enhancing BOI’s market presence. His leadership in managing the N10 billion Rice Intervention Fund has directly contributed to Nigeria’s agricultural sector growth, benefiting over 2,000 farmers.

In his current role, Idris leads the Business Development and Advisory team, driving strategic initiatives to expand BOI-ITC’s commercial presence. His deep understanding of market trends, financial risk management, and regulatory compliance ensures the successful execution of large-scale projects, Small and Medium Enterprise, while his commitment to innovation continues to shape the company’s future.

Idris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from Lagos State University, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Lagos Business School, and a Master’s in Project Management from Birmingham City University, UK. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (MNSChE), and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
